    Hello,

I am using the Decklink SP card for video out from Final Cut Pro 5 HD. I can’t view the footage in 16:9 wide frame mode on my monitor because I don’t have that option on my external monitor. Is there a way to view SD footage in the leterboxed mode using Blackmagic software.

These options are available in the software setup for HD footage, but I can’t figure out how to do the same with SD footage.

My other question is… If I upgrade to the Blackmagic HD cards, will I still be able to monitor SD content?

    Thanks,

    James –

    1. In Fcp change clip aspect ratio (motion->distort->aspect ratio) to -33 so you would be using 4:3 with black bars on top and bottom. This will be RT, so will not need to render anything. When laying back to tape select all clips ctrl+clik->remove attributes and select distort -> now you will have anamorphic picture again.

    2. Yes HD cards support SD as well
