  10.3.8 and 4.8 drivers strange behavior after install???

  Hi everyone,

  I fianlly got around to upgrading my system from 10.3.7 / 4.7 drivers to 10.3.8 / 4.8 yesterday. The system had been running well but I figured I’d upgrade while I was in between projects.

  Everything was fine after upgrading to 10.3.8 but upon restarting after the 4.8 drivers my external NTSC monitor was a bad looking green (the look of card failure).

  When I went into FCP and tried to play a clip everything was in fast motion, there was no audio, and no component signal to the monitor. I shut down, unplugged/re-plugged the main cable from the card and restarted.

  Everything was fine again. I digitized for a few hours, no problems at all. I shut down for the night. Restarting this morning, the same fast motion / no audio / no monitor output problem was there again. I trashed preferences and repaired permisissions to no avail.

  I then restarted and everything is fine again. But now I’m afraid to turn the computer off!

  Anyone else expereicnce anything like this after upgrading to 10.3.8 / 4.8? I know this configuration is suppossed to be very stable but it’s freaking me out right now.
