  What converters for analog HD client monitor

  What HD-SDI converters are people using to break off a signal for a consumer HD client monitor (like a sony CRT)? about how much would one cost?

  Hi Charlie,

  Both the DeckLink HD Pro 4:2:2 and DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 cards are HD-SDI cards and also include component analog video monitoring. So you can capture and play back to the deck via HD-SDI and have inexpensive analog monitoring via the component outputs of the card. The DeckLink HD Pro 4:2:2 card is US$1495. The DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 card is US$1995.

  If you are looking for a standalone convertor, then one of the Multibridge units would be great and we hope to recommence shipping shortly.

  Thanks Luke. Because our edits bays are about 30 meters from the machine room, what we’ve found works best (for SD work) is a single SDI cable to the edit room which feeds the BVM, and then taking the SDI loop off the monitor into an AJA SDI-Component brick for the 32″ Wega in the back of the room… and at this point, we don’t have an extra 3 BNC runs on the bulkhead.
