Best way to convert 30fps to 29.976fps and still keep sync?
I need to convert a video from 30fps to 29.976fps (DVD), and still keep it in sync with audio.
Could someone tell me what is the best way to do this?Thank you!

UNtil you get a definitive answer, try slowing down both audio and video by 1%. Test this out on a 15-30 second segment before committing to the entire clip.

this is pretty much the same as what roland said, but in a different way…
if the audio is in the clip, try selecting the clip in the project window. then choose file>interpret footage>main and conform the frame rate to 29.97.
drag that onto the make comp icon and ram preview portions of it to check the result. there may be a slight pitch change, but i’m not sure how detectable it would be.

If the original poster actually meant 29.97, not 29.976 (which is no normal frame rate), then I have a small correction to make to Roland’s suggestion. The factor for retiming is 0.1%, not 1%. (29.97 is 30 * 999/1000, not 30 * 99/100.)
Sorry for being the nitpicker. 😉
BTW, there are some tips here regarding conversions like this, including using Time Stretch versus conforming to a frame rate in footage interpretation, depending on what you want to do with the audio (preserve pitch versus preserve synch).
