  Extend Edges of Mask

  I want to extend the edges of my mask, but have the layer fade away towards the edge of the extension. It would look a bit like feathering.

  Please help, thank you.

  I am not sure if I understand your issue correctly, but if you are referring to a mask on a layer you have the option to Expand and Feather the edge. If it’s an alpha channel then a Matte Choker may do the trick.

  Yes, Mask Expansion is the one. That’s great. BUT, I also want the expansion to fade away. As in I want the expansion part to fade away towards the OUTER edge.

  Feather the mask and you should get that. You will probably need to adjust the expansion and the feathering together to get the result you want.
