    Hello!
I am trying for sometime now to figure out what the heck is causing my system to “Not Respond” or crash when rendering a 7 Min HD Clip.
The clip has no effects at all. Even when rendering it out to a Proxy, After will choke until a hard reset 🙁

I am working on a pretty fresh PC with these features:
    8GB RAM
    2TB HD
    GTX 470 Graphic Card.

I am sure the simple renders I am trying are simple for this machine.
I have also been playing around for a long time with the Memory and Multiprocessing… (enable/disable/2 out of 8 cores reserved for other apps/ nothing… really been trying every possible way. I think)

I Even tried deleting the Preferences Folder, as suggested here:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/2817632 , with no luck…

Is there anybody out there who suffered from a similar problem?
Please let me know. I hope not to run a fresh set up.

Thanks. and excuse the info bombing 🙂

Have you installed the After Effects CS5 (10.0.1) update? That update fixes a lot of problems.

I will ask. I think we did not.
I will post soon if it was resolved.
I really hope an update will be the cure.

    Thank you.

Hello again. I was away but now I am back, and back to my problem…
I just realized I posted ‘fresh’ post a couple of hours ago, about the same issue I never resolved here. I apologize for the double post, but I thought this is the right to continue! (Can’t seem to delete a post after 30 minutes of it being online)

    As for my problem:
I understand 8GB of RAM is not a lot, but i believe that a clean video with no effects and no other applications in the background should at least be able to render out a proxy so I could work…
I will try and play around with more setting.

    P.S
    The software here is updated.

If anyone has any more suggestions, again
Can’t seem to render Quick Time HD file to a 1/4 of it’s quality, in QT Photo JPG or Sorenson.
I am a bit stuck on this one. I believe I was able to do so with older machines on 32bit.
