  Assertion Failed Message When Opening Script .avc file in Avid 7.0.6.1

  I’m working on a project running Avid Media Composer 7.0.6.1 and Yosemite 10.10.5. I haven’t had any problems for the first month but this week I’ve had multiple scripts that have become corrupt while I was scripting. Avid will freeze up and when I relaunch the project the script I was working in will get me the following message:

  Assertion failed: from > lastRange.from
  [/Snapshots/relengmtnlion2_1461121310/coresw/core/Projects/Mac/../../src/lists/RangeArray.c:196]

  Multiple recent backup files in the avid attic will also give me this message when I try to revert to an older version.

  I’ve tried using different avid user settings, trashing preferences, and using a different computer (same specs) with no luck.

  Has anyone had this problem and if so do you have a solution? I’ve never had this problem before working with a computer running 10.8.5 so my best guess is that it’s related to Yosemite.
