    Hi guys,

I’m usually working on short timelines so i’m transcoding high res dnx at the beginning of the editing process and working on it till te final export.

Now i have much longer project so i’va transcode it at 36DNXHD and now i want to convert it to Dnx185 for some color work.

Is transcoding the final sequence the best way doing so?

I’ve duplicated the final seq ant put it at a different bin but i am not sure if the system goes back to original footage or not.

    Thanks,

    Oren.

If you just take your sequence created from DNxHD 36 media and transcode to DNxHd 185, your are doing so from the DNxHD 36 material resulting in no benefit to the image quality. You need to relink your sequence back to the AMA clips (camera originals) first, then transcode. Or alternatively, export an AAF and conform/color in the color correction application like Resolve from the camera originals and create DNxHD 185 media from there to bring back into your project.
