Intel CPU Only for Media Composer?
Posted by Ervin Tia on June 10, 2013 at 6:25 amHello,
Is anybody running MC on a non-Intel machine? I’m looking at a more economical AMD or something.
Here’s a sample component:

Comments, anyone? Thanks!

June 10, 2013 at 1:51 pmYou should stay within the avid specs for performance and longer life of your machine.
If you build your own system better not build the lowest level. New software changes and development will require more computing power by all softwares (avid, adobe etc.)
Also, make sure you can upgrade components if needed.
I build a Pc in 2008, it is still running and was good for using Avid for about 5 years.

June 10, 2013 at 2:24 pmAvid doesn’t test AMD. Who knows what it will do?
He’s saying its best to use what Avid recommends, as Avid is a very demanding application on your hardware. -
