  Symphony 5.5 and 6.0 project compatibility?

  Anybody had success or failure when moving a project from 6.0 back to 5.5 symphony? I’m sure it will more up.. Can you move one back and forth?

  As long as you don’t use features that are only in MC6/SYMPH 6…such as ProRes MXF…then you would be fine. Newer features never translate back…but Avid has a long history of good backwards compatiblity with most functions.

  Pan and Zoom changed between 5.x and 6. It won’t carry backwards (I don’t think it carries forwards anymore either – you have reload each picture, I think). Otherwise, you should be fine.

  I’ve gone back and forth quite a bit on two projects over the past months. No issues.
