  Output Anamorphic to HD CAM

  Hello,

  I have a QT file that is native 1280×720 anamorphic & I need to lay it to tape. It needs to be output to an HDCam tape from an avid.

  I’m not sure if I need to apply any avid effects like “reformat”, or if I need to change the setting on the deck to letterbox.

  Like I said, they want me to output it 1280×720 anamorphic. Can I even do that to my deck? It is a Sony HDCAM (HDW-M2000) that only seems to have options for 1080.

  HDCAM is only 1080 (1920 x 1080)

  If you import it in a 1080 project and place it in a sequence your Avid will upscale it to fill the frame and you can output to HDCAM.

  If you want to output to a 720p master, you need DVCPRO HD, D5 or HDCAM SR.
