  Avid stuttering timeline issue, please assist!

  Hi all. I’m running out of things to try so hopefully someone has some ideas. We are using Avid 3.1.3 on and hp xw8200 and a mediadock u320 scsi raid 0 array with 12 146gb drives (1.6tb total). Amytime more than 1 stream of HD footage is played in the timeline (even simple dissolve effect) the timeline stutters as if there is a bandwidth bottleneck or something. This what I’ve tried so far:

  Replaced Ram, replaced video card, tried different os’s – winxp 32, win7 64, win vista 64, swapped out the mediadock chassis and cables. Swapped out all disks (actually the first time I swapped out the disks it worked ok, then when I swapped the old set in to pull data an put the new array in again, the problem arose again – weird). I’m thinking it might be the onboard dual channel scsi controller on the motherboard at this moment but any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

  You don’t mention what type of system you are using.

  Only Symphony guaranteed two streams of RT HD.

  It’s a symphony nitris with the DNA (classic box), (not the DX).
