Modifying tracks-source files and tape names
AVID MC 4.0.2
Ok, we shot on a RED camera. During production the RED had a single mic attached to catch a ref sync track. The production mixer also recorded 4 tracks of audio into his DEVA machine, which we will use as the production sound.
So to sync the production sound to picture I needed to unlink the ref track media to Video, modify the tracks to lose the A1 ref sync track, so I could then sync the V1 with the new A1 from the DEVA production sound. The reason we got rid of the original sync ref is because when syncing more than one track it would make a Group clip which we did not want to mix up with the multi-camera group clips we will organize at a later date. All worked well up to that point.
After this point, I realize that some of of the picture does not have ANY production sound to sync with, so I need to get back access to the RED camera audio clips (A1) that I took off for those takes.
Is there a way to do this? I have tried to go in and modify again by adding A1 but then the “source media not found” dialogue box appears.
I have also tried modifying the tape NAME, but after I did that and added the A1 track, the track would show up but without the media, only a flat line within the audio timeline, no waveform, no audio… any suggestions? Did I name the tape name/source wrong?
