  • can i stretch 4:3 footage to fit 16:9?

i am using 4:3 footage in a 16:9 sequence, and to make it look correct i used a resize filter to boost the height to 125.

The footage looks clean to me and it seems like i found a method to make all my 4:3 projects fit into 16:9 space.

am i missing something here? maybe there is artifacting i am not seeing or what?

what do you think about this process?

That should do it – there is also a Pan & Scan effect in the Reformat section of the effects palette. Drop it on, go to the parameters and select 4:3 as source and 16:9 as target and it will do the same thing with the added benefit of a tilt and scan effect to get the best composition for the shot.
