    Hi Everybody,

We got a file that was uploaded in the U.K. and we’re having some
problems with it. It’s MPEG2 file in PAL and we’re trying to
intergrate it with our NTSC stuff and that’s where the problems are
occuring. I was able to convert it to NTSC just fine and DVD Studio
Pro and AVID XPress Pro are opening the file just fine but there are
    major interlacing and artifacting problems.

The interlacing and artifacts are also in the original MPEG2 PAL file
which we were able to open with Quicktime Pro and when you step frame
by frame you can see all the lines when any sort of movement is
involved (which makes me think that it’s an original compression
    problem).

Do you have any ideas regarding this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
