I am working on an Animation in AE pro 6.5.
    I have a very large bkgd image..8000/400.
Two things. I want to render it as it is so that I can pan and zoom.
Depending on ones system is there restrictions on size in AE in rendering ?

If anyone has worked with very high res images I would be grateful for any tips or tuts.. if there are any on the subject.

Also I would like to create some clouds for the sky.. Possibly with particel playground if there is any advice on doing that also I would welcome it.

Thanks in advance for any assistance

I am not aware of an actual limit, however I have worked with projects with very odd aspect ratios i.e. 14790 X 48, and it still seems to handle it fine. As you mentioned it prob. depends on your system. I have however, had issues with output of large comps and I found that it really depends on the codec that you use. Uncompressed quicktime usually works, but a tga sequence is most likely your best bet. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I believe your limitations will be related to your
    system/cpu/memory specs.

I remember working on some rather large pans
and zooms on my old system years ago and having
out of memory errors. I had to resize down
the pictures, then it worked and still looked
    great.

The sizes that were huge and didn’t work
    ended up being overkill anyway.

If plugins are within your budget Aurora Sky available from Digital Element and Digital Anarchy, as well as The Foundry’s Sky plugin (part of Tinderbox 1) both make very nice clouds.

Cheers. I do have access to at least one of those plug ins.
