another example of intermittent bad audio

Both sound like either a failing solder joint or a bad connection.
That they come and go is weird. I’d shake and wiggle all my audio connections and cables to see if I could make it happen.
I did know a guy with a studio in Boston that was taking radar hits from Logan Airport every time the array swung around past his attic studio…

Once it was (as already suggested) batteries nearing end of life, the other time it was a phantom power supply about to die.
