How to Automatically cross fade audio
Posted by Kyle Le on February 23, 2020 at 1:21 pmHi. I see that in the options drop down there is a place to select automatic crossfades. However, what if I don’t want the video clip to crossfade, but I just want the audio. Is there a way to do this since it would be very helpful for vlogging edits ? thank you

If you want your audio to keep matching the video, I only know one way. First, I put markers at every cut points then ungroup the video from the audio (U). I use the Split command (S) at the marker points. Give yourself some room between chosen clips. Making sure that only the video track is selected, I backtrack the video by 1 second (you don’t have to be picky about this). Group that section (G). After the audio fade-in mix is to my liking, I merge the video part accordingly If one does this for each clip, you then have total control, to the frame, on you clip.
If someone else has a better way, I would be happy to know about it. So far, it has served me well.
Cheers !

Not necessarily better, but certainly easier. Here’s a demo of a very simple Happy Otter free tool that does this.
