    Hello,

In rendering a sequence I get the following error “Not enough memory to create image buffer
14053 requested, 821183 avaiable”. I am rendering it with the comp window closed, on a G4
with 1.2 gigs of ram. IF there is 821183k available, and 14054k requested I’m not sure why the
render keeps failing. I restart and pick up where I left off, but it fails after rendering about 4 seconds of
    the sequence.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

Sorry if this is very obvious and it doesn’t address your issue but…..

Purge your memory first then try it again but you may want to cut the resolution down a bit (half or quarter)with a smaller screen size. A lot of times, people try to render out long stretches of the comp at max resolution. AE isn’t really for that.

    Thanks for the reply Glenn.
I did a reboot of the computer after each failure, left the comp window closed, and just
had AE open while rendering. I assumed the memory was purged at reboot, so
I’ll try reducing the resolution as an experiment and see how that goes.
The project is finished now , I just had to do it in several chunks and babysit the
computer as it rendered (and stopped) ;^)

    Thanks

    Dave

A simpler purge is the Purge (All) option in the menu under Edit I believe. Hope it works out.
