  • Rendering – Color bombs and flickering

I’ve been having a problem with Vegas where certain frames will be fully saturated with certain colors, either red or blue, but mainly blue. I have read that if I switch windows during the rendering process that this could happen, however I have sat there and made sure I did nothing while I watched the video render and still deposit these color bombs randomly through my video. To be clear they were not there prior to rendering and I know there isn’t anything wrong with the source files.

As well I use an end screen that has three different clips playing at once for no longer than 45 seconds. Lately whenever I add more than two videos to my end screen when I playback within the editor the videos and everything in the project begins to flicker all over the screen and then when I render the entire video the flicker maintain themselves in the rendered product. However, when I render this end screen separately, this does not occur and them I can import it and use it normally.

Any help or insight on this situation would be most helpful as I strive for professionalism and my software’s handicap is being masked as my own.

Not sure on this one but, since you have no other takers as yet, I am going to suggest it may be a video board/GPU issue. It may be starting to fail perhaps?
    Any way you can test?

No, unfortunately it’s brand new and I know it’s been working fine, aside from that I have rendering set CPU only as Vegas doesn’t like to render anything while using the GPU :(. Thanks though I appreciate the help!

I have a Nvidia GTX 690. When I am using 2 screens the preview window goes all crazy unless I have an overlay (either grid or safe areas) on the window, then it operates just fine. If I am using one monitor, with or without GPU processing turned on, all is fine.

If you have 2 screens, try turning one of them off just to render your project and see if that doesn’t work for you.

While it sounds weird, well, it really is.
