Now I realize at first this sounds like the same “No video in Preview” request, but I swear this isn’t.

I’ve gone to the trimmer and disabled “show video monitor” and the “auto preview” is on in the explorer tab.

Here’s what happens: when I start Vegas up and go to the explorer the first clip will have video and audio in the preview window. However, every clip after that there is no video or audio in the preview, just a black screen. Now, if I close Vegas, open it up again the first clip will preview and the rest won’t.

By the way, clips/content down in the timeline show in the preview sceen. I’m stumped, and while I’d like to think there’s a highly technical reason for this, I’m sure it’ll end up being a very simple solution.

    Thanks in advance.

Is your media stored on the same drive as your paging file? You may want to put it on another drive. Also, what format are your video/audio files? Could the capture have been corrupt? An easy way to try this is to place some other video files on the timeline that you know have worked in the past.

If the problem persists, perhaps try reinstalling Vegas as it sounds like (if the above doesn’t work) corruption.

    j razz,

Thanks for the suggestions, no luck with using a different source, same results. Files are M2T format and other then the preview everything works.

    Looks like I’m doing a re-install.

    Fingers crossed.

fingers uncrossed… success, after a re-install the preview is fully functional!

    Thanks,
