    I like the idea of ‘triming beyond end’ to get repeated stills of the last frame in the event.
    But when i try to do it the way I think it should be done, the trimming in fact restores the media that I had split’d and deleted.
    1) media properties loop = unchecked
    2) move media to timeline.
    3) place marker at where i want to split
    4) hit S . Media splits in 2
    5) delete the right half of split.
    6) Remove fade from audio ( why is it there and hard to get rid of! )
    7) NOW I TRY TO TRIM beyond end by ( at least ) 1 frame.

    What happens is that the end of remaining event is not duplicated or (beginning) looped. Instead it appears that the next frame of the deleted/removed ( first frame of right half of splitted ) event is placed there. I wanted to have the last frame of the left half of the split to duplicate so I can create a fade of just that frame.

    ALSO Why does the fade to the audio keep returning, even though i keep removing it. Crossfades = off.

    Anyway, I got vegas 9c/64bit on an AMD quad core 64bit machine.

    Remember that when you do a split, the original event information is still there.
    Therefore, when you drag it out, it knows that there’s still video there and it has to get to the end of the origianl clip before it will do a freeze frame.
    One workaround is to create a subclip of the section you want.
    That way, the last frame of the clip is indeed the last frame of the clip.
    Another way is to use a velocity envelope (available in Vegas Pro only) and set the speed to ‘0’ at the desired freeze point and hold it for the desired amount of time.

    The audio fade is a default and can be changed by:
    #1. going to Options – Prefs – Editing and changing the value of Quick fade length for audio events (ms) to ‘0’ (default is 10 ms.) or;
    2. from the Options menu, choose Quickfade Audio Edits to turn quick fades on or off. When you turn off quick fades, the edges of new events are not faded (existing fades are not removed).
