Problems running Sony Vegas 12/13 [Technical]
Hi!
I’d like to start to talk about what i do and what kind of computer i use to do it!
I work as an editor for YouTubers who play and records Video Games.
My work consists of mostly cutting work without any significant touch ups on the video (as for effects)I use a Desktop computer with the following specs;
Intel Core i7 3770K (Clocked Default 3.5Ghz)
16 GB DDR3 RAM
Samsung EVO 850 256 GB SSD
Nvidia Geforce MSI 970GTDell 2560×1440 IPS Monitor (Displayport)
AOC 1920×1080 144 Hz Monitor (DVI-D Port)I Use 1 Audio line for a voice compressed .mp3 (usually 15-40 minutes long)
2 Video Lines for a facecam and gameplay footage. Both compressed M4V’s using somesort of converter in 1080P & 60 Frames per Second (not sure which one my client uses)As i make a lot of cuts i notice my CPU taking a big hit and i wont be able to work smoothly.
I’ve turned down my Video Preview to Preview(auto) and sometimes when it gets really bad i move it down to half or even Quarter.
It doesn’t really matter what kind of preview setting i’ll use.. i’ll always get about the same framerate lagg on every single one.I’m well aware that my GPU gives 0 input or support to this process as the Maxwell chips are NOT supported (i’ve been digging old topics for months)
Everything i try ends up not working at all and it seems that if i make more cuts.. the more my CPU takes hits.
What parts should i replace to eliminate all of these problems!It doesnt seem like im asking a whole lot from Vegas but im required to use Vegas for this particular client.
This probably wont show a whole lot of what’s actually going on but.
