Mercalli 4 plugin
Posted by Roger Bansemer on November 9, 2015 at 12:11 pmI purchased Mercalli V4 plugin for Vegas and it seems to do a terrible job as compared to the Mercalli V2 plugin. I’m using Vegas 12.
Anyone had this same experience?Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

November 9, 2015 at 3:47 pmMake sure to follow the tutorial video, because their recommendation was not as straight forward. You add the CMOS Fixer plug-in first in the chain and then turn off Rolling Shutter Compensation in the stablilizer plugin options.
I normally use the standalone version to batch convert my son’s soccer video and I upgrade from v3 to v4. I was able to get the SVP suite in the upgrade, so I have the plug-in version too.

November 9, 2015 at 9:07 pmNo No! You are so wrong Roger, lol…
Mercalli 4 is soooo much better and faster than Mercalli 2.
It’s far superior in every way than the previous version. Maybe you are
going about implementing it all wrong!Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

November 10, 2015 at 1:54 amDo that, and fine tune using it. There are functional differences to its
previous version.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

November 10, 2015 at 1:00 pmI only purchased the image stabilizer plugin. Is purchasing the cmos stabilizer pretty much a must as well?
ThanksRoger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com

November 10, 2015 at 6:13 pmI’m not sure, if it is when you compare it to v2. I had v3 SAL (stand alone version), so the CMOS fixer was one of the reasons I upgraded. You should be able to download the trial to try with your footage and see if it helps.

November 29, 2015 at 12:48 pmHi Roger, never used V2 but I just purchased V4, and am having problems as well. strange thing is it analyzing great and looks fine in the preview but when I render the final video all of the stabilization is gone.
I dont really like their manual as in the link above. Looks like a translated version. They mention nothing about rendering the subject is “gone” and the word render does not even exist in the document. I have been searching all over the web to find what could be going wrong.
I have used Vegas for 10 years and never had probs with a plugin like this. If you get any info please post.

November 29, 2015 at 1:29 pmWell, at least now I know it’s not just me that’s having issues.
I use Vegas Pro V12. I’m wondering if it works on V13 and not 12?
I’ve put in a call to Mercalli but they have not called back. (of course)
I was really looking forward to the new version but as you said, the end result is shaky if not more than the original.Roger Bansemer – PaintingAndTravel.com
