  Rendering Makes A Short Black Video??? Advice? :(

  SO i have sony vegas pro 12, i played around and made a youtube intro 20-ish seconds long. I have the Project Video Properties set to Match Video Media… which makes a custom rendering template- though ive tried without. whenever i try to render, as a avi. mp4. etc it renders in 2-3 seconds and gives me the desired file of only a few thousand kb…when i play it it gives me a black soundless video only a few seconds long. Im running windows 8 does anyone know whats wrong??

  UPDATE: I switched compatability settings to windows 7, but now it just renders halting videos with the audio cutting out… maybe this is just the fault of my computer?

  Hi Leaf
  It sounds like you have “Render Loop Region Only” turned ON by mistake.
  This is one of the most common problems people experience.
  The setting is near the bottom of the Render As window.
  Turn it OFF and re-render and everything will be back to normal.

  You don’t need to be in compatibility mode.

  Sure, that IS a possibility, but I’d want to know FIRST that the OP has a Loop Region Selected on the Timeline – yes? Otherwise our chum could be rendering the WHOLE Project, to no avail.

  A ScreenGrab of the Work-area would nail this.
