Take a gander Mac users:
Posted by Steve Rhoden on September 5, 2014 at 10:50 pmSony Creative Software is moving beyond the PC, with three Mac-based applications, and iPad functionality in Vegas Pro 13. Sony Creative Software is continuing its cross-platform expansion with new applications to debut at IBC.

September 6, 2014 at 5:07 pmGreat find, Steve! I hope Sony expands some of the new features in ver. 13 to us Android users. Basically I’d love to see the new iPad feature expanded to Android tablet users.

September 6, 2014 at 6:07 pmGreat news. I’m glad to see Vegas’ useable operating systems expand. I’ve been encouraging a friend to switch from FCP to Vegas for a while, and he almost seems ready to do it, having been fed up with Apple’s changes and being limited to using FCP 7. But he would have to get a Windows computer as it stands.

September 6, 2014 at 6:18 pmFrom what im gathering guys, it could quite be possible Vegas is
going to Mac! (Could be wrong still, lol)
Although i dont use Mac’s, this move would delight me immensely, because
it would certainly garner a larger user base and gives Vegas the serious
attention it so richly deserves.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

If he doesn’t like FCP X he won’t like Vegas Pro either. I love FCP X because it’s a lot like Vegas Pro. In fact, I’m sure the FCP X programmers copied a lot of features from Vegas Pro. The two programs are very similar and I learned FCP X very quickly coming from Vegas Pro.

No he doesn’t. All he would need to do is either run Bootcamp on his existing Mac or run Vegas Pro in a Windows virtual machine with VMware Fusion or Parallels. Personally, He’d be better off just learning FCP X unless it’s lacking some feature that Vegas Pro has that he needs.
Here is Vegas Pro running on my Mac Pro desktop using VMware Fusion in Unity mode with the new BCC 9 transitions:
No need to buy a PC at all.

He doesn’t like FCP X, but isn’t Vegas more functional than it? And doesn’t it offer more features?
