  • It is really slow when I adjust berzier handle on the viewer.

I recently upgraded my pc to core 2 quad Q9650 3.0 GHz and ATI FirePro V5700. It is working on Vista 64bit Ultimate with 8 GB memory.
And also upgraded AE version from CS3 to CS4.
At first, It was so slow when I moved a key frame on the timeline window, but I got an answer by turning off “Enable Open GL” on the preference. But still it is very slow when I adjust berzier handle on the viewer window and size up and down display size, for example from 100% to 50%, it’s like frozen a second. I turn on “Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously” and leave 0.5 GB RAM for other applications. It is same slow whether I turn on and off that option.
It is pain in the neck when I do key frame animation. I do many times adjust berzier handle to test animation. This kind of weird performance makes work very slow.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Looks like a problem with the graphics card driver.
Try to update the driver to a newer version, and if it doesn’t help, try the opposite – switch to an older version of the driver.

I tried to downgrade driver version but I can’t.
After I installed older version of graphic driver, I see it is installed on Device Manager with a notice icon. But it says no driver is installed on display settings menu. So I tried to install manually, but it says “newest version of driver is already installed.”
I don’t know how to figure out this problem. I just came back to newest version of graphic driver. And still has a problem with AE CS4.
I bought Firepro V5700 because many benchmarks say that Firepro series are much better than Quadro series for Maya.

I just got a crash information about displaying motion path.
When I turned off motion path display, it was working well, but I can’t do key frame animation without seeing a motion path.
some one has an idea about it?
    any help would be appreciated.

Do you have “Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer and Footage panels” turned on in Preferences > Display?

I do turn on “Hardware Accelerate Composition, Layer and Footage panels”. But it is still same. Only it is working smoothly when I set “no motion path” on display tap.
