Finding it difficult to create a simple project.
I’m new to Vegas.
I’ve imported all my raw video onto my PC and here is a sample of the media Information:

Duration : 49s 855msAll I want to do is edit out a few scenes and put in a few transition between scenes but it’s just too difficult. Here are my issues:
1. Based on the Media Information from the source video, how should I render the output so that there is no re-encoding? Is this possible?
2. Most of the render formats I choose give me the error “An error has occurred while opening a codec.”. I installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack V6.6.0 which seems to cover some of the codecs. Is there a codec pack which has ALL the codecs for Vegas?
3. I rendered using Sony AVC/MVC – “AVCHD 1920×1080-50i 5.1 Surround” but it just seems that the quality is poor.
Am I doing something wrong or is there another software package I should be using instead to get the best quality with 5.1 surround sound?

No this is not possible in Vegas Pro. You will need to render using Sony AVC and one of the “AVCHD …” or “Blu-ray …” templates.

You should never install any codec paks. The fact that you have already done so means that you may never get this to work properly. Uninstalling them doesn’t always work. What you have done is replaced the high quality codecs that you purchased when you bought Vegas Pro, with free substitutes which don’t always work (as you have seen) basically throwing your money away.
I would uninstall all codec paks and re-install Vegas Pro and hope that this fixes your problem.

This could be due to your installation of codec paks. The “real” Sony AVCHD encoding is very high quality.

You went wrong when you install a codec paks on your computer. Don’t do this because it will always mess up Vegas Pro.
