Imagine a video shot from a car passing in front of a building.
You want to add a picture or a text on that building which follows its moviment.
What’s the best way to do it?
I tried track motion but it looks extremelly fake, even worse if it makes curves, no way!
    Thanks.

I use Mocha in After Effects to achieve those precise motion tracking,
the next best thing to that for Vegas, is to use the motion tracking feature in Boris Continuum Complete.

Well i would thoroughly advise you to purchase
Boris Continuum Complete… It has an overwhelming
amount of filters and features. Its now a necessary
toolset, if you are serious about editing in Vegas.

Thanks but I’m not serious about making videos, I’m just having fun so I won’t spend money with it, I have more important priorities to put my money like my recording studio 😉

Can we send private messages here?
I’m kind of lost cause I’m used to phpbb and vbulletin forums so I couldn’t find a pm box.

Then you’re not going to have a lot of fun because Vegas Pro cannot do automatic motion tracking without additional plug-ins. If you seriously wanted to do this without a plug-in, you would have to keyframe the movement by hand. At 30 frames per second, doing just 10 seconds of motion tracking means that you would have to keyframe 300 frames by hand. That will take a lot of time and not be fun but if you are up for doing it anyway, look up Track Motion and Keyframing in the Vegas Pro documentation.

Just in case you’re interested, this is how it’s done with Boris Continuum Complete Match Move that Steve suggested:

    BCC Match Move

You can also do corner pinning with BCC:

    BCC Corner Pinning
I understand if you don’t want to buy plug-ins and all of this is possible without buying a plug-in, it just takes a lot of time to keyframe manually.
