Selecting multiple titles from the menu to run as a set
Hello,
I am creating a promo video with multiple subjects. I would like the menu to present a list of subject-titles (in either chapter or playlist form) and allow the user to select multiple subjects to watch back-to-back and run in a loop. I know about the “end action” function but I do not know if a menu can offer multiple title selections and then play only those titles.
For example: My menu would have 10 titles listed. Of those 10, the user likes 5. He would select (or check-off) those 5 that he likes and then those 5 would play as a seamless set (the order of which does not matter) in a loop. Is this possible?

Eh? I understand but what I was having in mind would have been massively unwieldy, but here goes.
If I want to make a selection from 3 separate items:
A – – B – – C
This would give the following for “A”
Selection 1 = A
Selection 2 = A+B
Selection 3 = A+B+C
Then I would need to go to “B”
Selection 4 = B
Selection 5 = B+C
Then I would need to go to “C”
Selection 6 = C
So this would give me a nominal series of:
1x2x3 = 6 OR 3!
So I could envisage a set of “nested” Menus each allowing the Viewer to select their “selection”.
Now, for your selections for the 10 Items that would be “10!”
Is this correct?:
10x9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1 . . . . .
Anyways it’s massive.
The reason for this obscure Maths is that needing to make a “flat” Selection, which I believe is the ONLY way DVDA is set to do the alternatives you’d be wanting, would require this.
Any other takers on this? I’m truly interested.

As Graham pointed out in painful detail, you are asking for something that a DVD cannot do and therefore you would have to provide a button for every possible combination which is 10 * 10 or 100 buttons.
The short answer is:
What you want to do is not possible with a DVD.

What I have used in the past, was OPUS Pro.
OP would produce any number of configurations media<>menus<>selections in many different ways. However, that would be published on a DVD-ROM and would NOT be available to be played on a DVD STB which needs to have a “platter” that adheres to the DVD Convention.
DVDs are great, but when it comes to this type of “wish” are severely limited AND limiting in their feature-set.
(Now, if only one could sensibly connive, conspire and construct to make the 100 selections . .? STOP, let it go . . . . !)
