Using Ultimate S Lite and Photo Montage
Posted by Ron Whitaker on November 3, 2012 at 6:42 pmI’m using Ultimate S Lite in SVP 12 and am trying to add the Photo Montage to a single still image.
When I click Apply, the image disappears. It’s still on the timeline, but I can no longer see it within the Video Preview.
Why is this happening?

November 3, 2012 at 6:51 pmActually, I think I figured it out.
The image was a .PNG format. When I converted it to .JPG in Photoshop, it worked fine.
Does Vegas not like PNGs?

November 3, 2012 at 6:56 pmVegas used to love PNGs but for some strange reason, Pro 12 changed this relationship for the worse 🙁
You’re not the only one as a lot of users on various forums have been complaining about this lately. -

November 3, 2012 at 9:15 pmI’m not seeing any problem with Ultimate S Lite and a single PNG file. I just tried it and it worked fine both from the timeline and from the file system.

November 3, 2012 at 9:25 pmI just tried with version 12, but with Production Assistant 2 Montage tool and it worked for me. Although the png file I used was created with Vegas Pro 12 from the Video Preview window.

November 3, 2012 at 11:06 pmYes, I have SVP 12 build 394.
I got the file originally online as a png file, then had to convert it to jpg in Photoshop before it would work.

November 4, 2012 at 1:20 pmYea, it may be something particular to that PNG file. Make one of your own with Photoshop and try it.
