Rendering audio and video together in MPEG 2 (resolution 1920×1080)
I have Vegas Pro 9. I have divided a project in 3 pieces to make it easier to work on, I plan to render each one of them and them just bring them back together into Vegas Pro 9 for Blue Ray burning. I want the best quality for my BR output of 1920×1080. I have a small Sony HD camera with that resolution that provides the footage. I want to create the 3 renderings with video and audio together but seems that MPEG 2 has video only. Is there any way to get both in one file? I am not planning to use Architect, just Vegas Pro 9 for everything because I dont need chapters. Thanks for your suggestions.

The MPEG2 renders don’t have any audio because the format is best for the final rendering of video and audio streams for DVD authoring. You don’t want to use this format for re-editing.
I would render in the format of the camera. So if your camera shoots AVCHD, render to AVCHD. If your camera shoots HDV, render to HDV. This should be fine for one intermediate render. If you really want optimal quality, use Sony YUV or buy a codec like CineForm or download the free Avid DNxHD codec for QuickTime but this may be overkill for your workflow. Personally, I would just render to the camera’s native format.

Thanks for your response. I might dabble on Sony YUV just to get some experience,this is for a Blue Ray disk to be watched in a wide screen TV, and even the best of them don’t have such a great resolution. I keep learning from the best!!!!
