Question about quality
Guys we know that keep copying a cd/dvd won’t reduce the level of quality cause it’s digital but what happens in Vegas if I render a clip, import it and rend it again with the same settings and again and again…?
It’s digital but does importing/rendering process reduce the level of quality ?We have so much time and so little to do! / Willy Wonka

It all depends on the format you’re rendering to.
A lot of folks prefer to use lossless formats but they can get rather large in size 🙁
I work in MXF and will go down one or two generations but no more than that. -
Yes, if you render a clip again and again and again and again,
even to the very same format it reduces (degrades) the quality

With the exception of the original DV format.
One Vegas user did a test a long time ago and he stopped after 100 generations.
No degradation whatsoever!! -

NTSC (or PAL) DV-AVI
Limited to SD resolution though. -

What am I missing?”AVI is just a wrapper for all kinds of files.
Run it through MediaInfo (it’s free and a great app to have in your toolkit) and let us know what it says.
