September 3, 2012 at 9:40 pmWithout knowing what kind of AVI it was, it’s impossible to offer any suggestions.
I always choose mp4 for any YouTube downloads I do and I have no problems playing them or bringing them into Vegas (Pro 10 in my case). -

youtube downloader gives an AVI option, I chose it and it never came with audio hahahaWe have so much time and so little to do! / Willy Wonka

September 3, 2012 at 9:56 pmOdds are that you need a specific codec to be able to play the file which is why I asked what MediaInfo said about it.
BTW, never install a codec pack as they have been known to replace the good codecs in Vegas with inferior ones. -

September 5, 2012 at 3:09 amThe original DV format is probably the only rendered format we have in Vegas – everything else is encoded, and except for uncompressed encoding, the process ALWAYS throws out what it thinks is redundant data. This is why subsequent encodes degrade with each generation, including the first.
