Trying to install Ultimate S Pro demo
Posted by Ron Whitaker on August 24, 2012 at 6:31 pmI installed the Ultimate S Pro demo, but when I open SVP 11 64-bit, then click Tools > Extensions, Ultimate S doesn’t appear.
I notice that the install script puts it in the Program Files(x86) folder under the VASST folder.
Shouldn’t it be in the same folder as SVP 11, which is simply the Program Files folder?
Thanks.

August 24, 2012 at 6:41 pmHow did you install it?
I go into SVP 11, and there’s nothing under Tools > Extensions.

That’s because it’s under:
View | Extensions | Ultimate S Pro
not the Tools menu. Anything with a GUI must go under View. If it’s under Tools it can’t have a user interface. The ReadMe file that displays after you install documents that you should look under the View menu.

No, the files in the VASST folder are other files that the Command Extension needs along with documentation, etc. The Command Extensions themselves are installed into a folder designated by Sony which (unfortunately) is hidden by Windows.

It’s under View > Extensions, NOT Tools > Extensions!
Thank you.

I have added UltimateS buttons on the main tool bar, such as ‘cut to’ and ‘fade to’ cameras.
I have noticed that the buttons sometimes disappear in 64 bit SVP in versions 10 and 11, but only when I use another application such as Excel or word for an extended period of time, say 10 minutes, and then return to SVP. The Ultimate S buttons are still there because if I hover the mouse, the tool tips appear and the still buttons work, but it is a bit of guess work as they have lost their icons. Restarting Vegas always restore the buttons.
I have not reported it to Vasst as I consider it trivial, plus the fix is simple. SVP crashes often enough to restore the buttons anyway 🙂

Actually this is well documented Vegas problem. We have no control over Vegas loosing icons and it’s not just our icons, it’s any script icons.

August 25, 2012 at 4:43 amThanks John. I didn’t mean to imply Ultimate S was at fault. I am 100% certain SVP is at fault. I

August 25, 2012 at 1:14 pmNo worries is it quite logical to blame a plug-in for it’s icon gone missing but in this case, it’s a well know issue with Vegas.
