I have used a render preset that I made back in vegas 9. It is an mpeg2 render and I used to be able to render out my videos and then make minor changes/cuts with smart rendering. It was great.
When I upgraded to vegas 10 I used the same preset but now it doesn’t let me smart render. I tried changing some settings but to no avail.

Can you guys take a look at these screen caps and see if you notice anything that would prevent me smart rendering with this render preset?

    Thanks

    Here are the caps:

Could you please attach the screen shots to your post here at the COW? The site you used says that it’s over capacity so we can’t see them.

    Here’s how:

    Press the Add Image button

Then upload your image and cut & paste the link in your post.

So I render with this one originally and then i pop the file back into vegas and match media settings so the project is exactly right.

Then I make a cut or two and hit render using this exact same render profile.

    Thanks

[Lee Mueller] “Can you guys take a look at these screen caps and see if you notice anything that would prevent me smart rendering with this render preset?”

Here are the big differences I see:

    (1) On the Advanced Video tab, your DC coefficient is set to 11 bit and in my Vegas Pro 11.0 it only goes up to 10 bit and the default is 9 bit.

    (2) Your Sampling format is 4:2:2 and the default is 4:2:0 and it’s not editable. I have no idea how you changed that.

I would just make a new custom template in Vegas Pro 10 and use that and see if it smart-renders. Understand that smart-render will only work if the source video matches the render format exactly.

Ok thanks for looking into it John. I am rendering from the same preset so everything is the same and it worked before in vegas 9. I guess it is just a glitch in vegas…

Will try what you said and post here if I have success.
