There are a couple of abandoned posts about this topic and no one has been clear on how to get this done. To be clear: Most cameras cut video files into 2gb chunks. If you record something continuously for 20-30 minutes you will end up with multiple 2gb files for that time instead of one complete file.

Most AVCHD cameras that I have used will either come with a program to stitch the files together properly or Vegas does it via its device explorer.

I just got the canon xf100 camera and it uses .mxf files. Does anyone here use that camera and have you found a way to stitch together the files?

The reason some of us want to do this is because a: It just makes sense and b: it makes applying complex fx groupings way easier and c: if you do any multicam shooting when you combine the tracks it puts cuts where those events end. Again I could get used to this but I just want to see if I can do things like how I have been before I give up.
