Rendering low fps second (slideshow effect)
I am rendering AVCHD clip. I havent had low memory before while rendering, but now I try to render a clip with fps setting set to 2 frames per second and I get “The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications” error. Is it normal ? I didnt expect that rendering on lower fps could make any changes for memory usage. My laptop has 4GB ram on win7 32bit.
I am trying to make so to say “slideshow effect” not a smooth video with high fps. And tried this way, so you could also say any other tips how to delete frames or make such slideshowy video.

Since you are using a 32-bit OS you can only use 2GB of memory so out of memory problems are common in 32-bit mode; especially if you have multiple cores.

Try setting the Undersample rate in the event properties to 0.100. That will get you down to about 3 fps.

It seems that 0.100 is the minimum?
My footage is 50 fps, so it gives me 5 fps, but I cant set is smaller, it just goes back to 0.100.

50fps… Wow. Why record at such a high rate if you want to make it look like a slide show? Pixelan has a plug-in called StepTime that will also slow footage down like a slide show. You might want to look into that.

I believe it might look weird 🙂 Its a sport camera and so the higher fps the better, my camera also has a picture mode to take picture in every 1 or 2 seconds(called timelaps i believe?). So I had some pictures of cardrive to a campsite and few videos of the same drive, And it set the pictures with length 0.145second and got pretty cool clip that way, but I didnt have very much those images, so I thought to make video look like similar.
