    Hello,

I have recently finished a movie that I will eventually need to deliver as a movie for a blackberry. Has anyone got any advice on what format and size I should be using.. or any other tips?

    Thanks, Dasha.

The sizes and datarate should be pretty much fixed, especially the size. Have you performed an online search? Let us know what you find and also let us know of the server that you used. It’s nice to know, after being beyond the multimedia loop, how the video actually gets transmitted and by whom.

    Cheers

    Hello,

I have found out that blackberrys do vary slightly and have found this useful page that has the specifications for all the different types of blackberries.

    https://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB05482&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=185006185&stateId=1%200%20185004605

Not sure I know what you mean by server… the movies are going to be actually on the blackberry…

Thanks!! I should really research before I post!

Ok, further problems, found out they are upgrading to bold.. which if you look at the link in the previous post uses 24 frames movies… My video is at 30 frames….

    What should I do?

    Thanks, Dasha.

AFAIK, 24fps should be the maximum DESIRED frame rate BUT you should be able to make do with a lower frame rate – something like 15-18fps to give a full-motion effect without the user noticing any dropped frames.

As for methods for going from 30 to 24, there are a couple of AE articles and tutorials in the COW library that you should look into.
