  Photo duration decrease over time. Workflow/script?

  Hi Guys, I have this project in mind where I want to use a couple hundred images (all related subject) to start out about 2 seconds duration and quickly, but uniformly, decrease in duration to final shots about “blink of an eye”. The track length is about 18-19 seconds. How would I go about this to have a consistent (x minus y) workflow that isn’t tediously shortening the length of each image one by one? It’d be awesome if there was a script for this. I’m trying to build a rise or adrenaline rush out the climatic end. Thanks!!!

  I would start with an empty project, then drag all of the pictures to timeline at ones (Still-image lenght is 5 sec by default I think, it can be changed in Preferences).
  Be sure “Automatic Crossfades (CTRL-SHIFT-X)” is not active. This will make a slideshow. Save project as slide.veg.. Now close this project.
  Start a new project, drag’n drop this generated slide.veg onto timeline. Right-click event and insert velosity envelope. Now you can manipulate speed and CTRL-drag event end to meet your needs.

  Hopefully this will help you, but maybe there is another and simplified way to do this.

  You can open all images in the sequence as a single entry in the Project Media window, with the desired frame rate (File > Import > Media, select Open still image sequence option, images must be named like image001.jpg, image002.jpg etc.). Then use Velocity envelope for consistent increasing the speed. Voila!

  Thanks gentlemen, great options and I liked how all three are different workflows for flexible options. Seeing as you guys may have done this, what is the shortest duration most professionals use for this type of effect? On a 30fps timeline… how little of frames are we talking for the last set of “blink of an eye” images? I hope I worded that correct.
