Panning still image while maintaining ratio
Bare with me as I am still new to working with Sony Vegas Pro. I am working on a project which has a lot of still images. Everything is set to 1280×720. Originally, I had not set the images’ height and width to 1280×720. I had cropped them and used keyframes to create a panning motion. However, when it rendered out, the video would either show horizontal or vertical bars (letterboxing?). By changing all the images to 1280×720, and then rendering the video once again, the image fills the entire screen.. which is what I wanted.
The problem is… when I go back to these 1280×720 images, I am unable to use keyframing to create a panning effect. If I were to crop an image just to give me room so I can keyframe, it renders out with the bars either on the sides or top and bottom again. If I don’t crop the image at all and set a keyframe to move to the left, there will be a black bar to the right.
SO, how do I pan an image while maintaining a 1280×720 ratio?
Thank you in advance! 🙂
