    Greetings!

I’m new to Vegas pro 9. Primarily an After Effects user. I’m stuck on two issues with a project I’ve completed editing. And think I can make better. And if anyone could give me some guidance I would appreciate it.

First, I have 720p 30 footage. Hand held so a bit jittery. In VLC I played my my clips back at 50% speed, and the jitter is mostly gone. What is the best way, without have to start from scratch, to Time stretch (Time remap) just a clip in the time line (hopefully with out changing the length)? Everything is timed to music.

I intended to finish my project as 2.39:1 from my 16:9. In AE it was easy. I just created my Comp by dragging footage (1280×720), then under Comp setting change the comp to 1280×560, Instant crop without stretching my clips. I tried on my render to make it 1280×560, but that just squeezed my clips. not cropped. I don’t want to do letter box. I don’t want black bars on top and bottom.

What is the best quality output settings (render) intended for 720p or 1080p Vimeo?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Sincerely,

    Max Stein

Right-click the event and select Properties…. Then on the Video Event tab change the Playback rate to 0.5.

You do the same thing in Vegas. A Comp in Vegas is a just nested project. Create a new project at 1280×560. Drop your existing project onto the new project’s timeline. It will become a single piece of media just like a Comp in AE. Finally, open Pan/Crop on the event that the project created and right-click the Pan/Crop window and select Match Output Aspect. You now have 2.39:1 crop.

Use the Sony AVC render type with the Internet 1280×720-30p template.
