Pan-Crop series of “stills”
Hi again,
I have a “flashing sign” created by two stills: One “bright,” one “dull”. I set a series of about 20 of these stills, alternating, each one second long, and it works well.
But I would also like to zoom-in, as I go through this series. Each “still” has its own pan-crop control, but how can I connect them all up, end-to-end, and then have a single control to effect a smooth zoom, while progressing through the entire series?

Save all stills as a separate Vegas project and nest it (insert this project to the timeline like any other video clip) to the main project.

Turn the track(s) that your stills are on into a composite child whose parent track has nothing else on it. Then do motion tracking on the (otherwise empty) parent track to get the zoom in/out, etc. effect you’re looking for.

Thank you all very much. The simplest suggestion, which I tried and it worked, was to pre-render the sequence. The other methods I simply haven’t much experience with. Certainly the parent-child concept I have never focused on, and it is bound to be a very useful tool as well. Is there perhaps a YouTube video on it?
