Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c Rendering Black
I just recently ran into a problem that prevents me from rendering the entirety of a video I spent an large amount of time on.
Recently when I was editing my project (source is .mp4), I encountered a problem I had seen before. I was previewing my project and all of a sudden at a certain clip it began to flicker black (other clips worked fine). After this, now occasionally a few certain clips spread apart in my project will either flicker black as before, or will be a completely black screen. However, almost randomly, these clips will begin to work again after any series of actions (from what i’ve seen, minimizing and maximizing, zooming out of timeline, etc). The issue will return in a different clip, though. It’s important to note that the .jpg images I have placed in certain frames that go black ARE present, so the problem is with the HD video.
However, this problem becomes even worse when rendering. When rendering the video, if, while rendering, Vegas hits a frame that is black, the rest of the rendered video will be completely black. I’ve tried multiple formats with different settings, including rendering in identical settings to the project and source. Nothing seems to work. As I recall, what started this whole problem was simply moving a clip to a different location in the timeline – the difference here was that I saved the project after that and never moved the clip back, whereas before in different projects when I ran into this issue I just returned the clip to its previous position.
It would be quite difficult to do the same at this point seeing as to how much has changed, but I honestly don’t understand how they would help, seeing as how many clips before and after that one clip are having the black screen problem as well now.
These clips are .mp4 H.264 recorded off of an Xbox 360 with the Hauuppauge HD-PVR.
I’m honestly utterly confused at this point, and truly hoping I haven’t lost all my work due to this one error..
Please help.
