Not sure if anyone is still following this thread, but I actually recently discovered that the flickering happens with almost anything. For example, I placed a simple .jpg imagine in the timeline and surely enough, later it began to flicker. Not sure what to think about this now.

I would contact Sony Technical Support from the support page on their web site. I know they fixed some issues with black frames in 9.0e but apparently you may have found another.
