Vegas 9 point by point masking
Posted by John Gregoriades on July 11, 2010 at 9:21 amHi,
I have not tried this before. I expected the tool (something like a pen nib) would show up on the “Event Pan Crop”, but it does not. Only “Position” shows. I would like to mask unusual shapes such as people (not circles, rectangles etc.) But I cannot find the way to do it.
What am I doing wrong, Please?
Thank you,

July 11, 2010 at 12:40 pmAh, unfortunately there is no such box to check. There is only the “Position”. Something is missing. (Is it a plugin?)I checked Vegas 7 and it had the same situation.

Are you using Movie Studio or Vegas Pro?

(I guess I cannot figure out how to post a .jpg file. I followed instructions but it will not “copy” the “Embedded”, it will only copy the link, so I did so.

That’s your problem. Movie Studio does not support masking. Only Vegas Pro does.

July 12, 2010 at 3:35 amThank you for the info. Vegas 9 is becoming….old. I wonder if there is a “10 PRO” I can buy, or wait for. There is a “Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 10” available via Amazon, but I wonder if it would have reduced features…

You can wait for 10 pro. It hasn’t come out yet.

That doesn’t have masking either so you’ll have to buy the Pro version if you want masking.
