VFX Side Quest – Into the Looking Glass VFX Tutorial

Neo and Alice aren’t the only ones who can reach through the looking glass. The latest VFX Side Quest recreates the mirror portal effect from the upcoming Matrix Resurrections using a shockingly small number of layers and some mesmerising effects within VFX Supercomp. This effect was developed live during “VFX and Chill with Seth and Hashi”, their weekly VFX show, and is recreated in a stand-alone tutorial to be uploaded directly into your brain.

Setting up two cameras, one to film the subject, and another to be the reflection camera, Hashi and Seth take the footage into Adobe After Effects go over the plugins and cool tricks that make this effect really flow.
