The Secret of Resolve’s Missing Blend Mode

Uncovering an important blend mode missing from both Resolve and Fusion and that’s the Hard Mix blend mode – and we’re going to be building it from scratch using our own custom routine. And a lot more!

One of the things to know about Hard Mix is that it is one of the so-called Special 8 blend modes in Photoshop which can be controlled using the mysterious Fill slider. If you look online you’ll quickly discover that there are a zillion theories about how the Fill slider works but I have not found a plausible account so here I’m going to show my solution.

And along the way we’re going to be working with some very interesting and useful custom processes.
