Graham Quince's Safe Zone tutorial for TikTok Shorts and Instagram

Safe Zones preset for TikTok, Shorts and Instagram

A useful tool for Adobe After Effects.

I’m making more and more vertical videos (mainly to help promote my horizontal ones) but whenever I add any text or logos, I find it is a real struggle to avoid all the areas on the screen where the streaming companies place their own DOGs (digital on-screen graphics). To try to make my life easier, I’ve made a preset where I can check if the graphics are easy to view on TikTok, Youtube Shorts, Instagram Stories and Instagram Reels.

In the video I show you how to use the preset, including setting the layer it creates to be a guide layer, but then I show you how to adapt it so that when streaming companies update their interfaces, the preset will continue to work.
