Pikimov is a free web-based motion design and video editor

Years ago, I used to develop VJ softwares (to mix clubbing live visuals) for platforms such as the Sony Playstation 2 or the Raspberry Pi. In 2024, I’m back with a new creative tool for motions designers.

As a creative developer working daily on a Linux machine, I often found myself in need of an After Effects alternative, with compositions, layers, keyframes, masks… so I ended up creating Pikimov on which I worked during my free time, late at night. It’s a free online motion design & video editor that runs directly in web browsers, on all systems: Windows, macOS and Linux.

To start using Pikimov, simply visit https://pikimov.com/ and click on ‘New Project’. Voilà!

No installation setup, no sign-up, no paywall, jump right into your first video composition. Users familiar with After Effects will find themselves comfortable. The key concepts are identical: compositions, layers, keyframes, easing curves, filters…
